ALMOST two years after a blaze forced it to close, the Ironmonger Row Baths Spa has opened its doors again.
Just days into 2022, 70 firefighters were called to the historic building after a fire started in the spa.
The space, run by the council’s contractor Better, reopened last Friday after extensive renovation work.
Lead councillor on health Nurullah Turan said: “The fact that the spa sold out in advance of its opening day is testament to the desire for the new spa to open, as well as the affection that local people have for Ironmonger Row Baths.”
The new spa has a plunge pool, a thermal spa with infrared relaxation benches, as well as traditional Turkish hot rooms. A range of treatments including facials and hot stone massages are also available.
The spa will be offering concessionary rates for over-60s, and those with disabilities or carers.
People receiving benefits as well as students are also eligible.
