A CAR parts shop that has been in Holloway for almost 50 years has been selected for the next promotional push by Arsenal.

The Gunners have set out to give free exposure to small businesses looking to bounce back from the Covid disruption.

It has already given a boost to the Tollington pub by filming an advert inside and using pitchside hoardings to tell fans it is part of the “matchday experience”.

Now Arsenal have sent captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to visit Autoparts on the Holloway Road for a 30-second advert in the build-up to Sunday’s north London derby.

Autoparts owner John Selby said: “For a little business like ours, it’s kind of felt like a lottery win. It’s not just the exposure, it’s the feeling of something good happening, enjoying the fun of the film shoot and all of that. It’s been so tough during the pandemic, it’s felt like everything was against you.

“People moved their business online and became used to that, but the bills don’t stop and then there’s road closures, just everything. For something like this to happen out of the blue, it was just amazing.”
