Dog walker Paul Jackson and his new boss Lisa Chung

A PROFESSIONAL dog walker has given a job to a homeless man after seeing how much he loved his pet puppy.

Lisa Chung heard about Paul Jackson and his 12-week-old Shar-Pei cross dog, named Bruce, and decided to visit him when he was living on the streets in Islington.

“I put him in touch with Dogs on the Streets so that he could get his dog chipped and checked over,” she said.

But the more she spoke to Paul, 29, the more she thought he could join her business, Schnauzer & Co.

“I could see how devoted he was to Bruce,” said Lisa. “He is brilliant with the dogs and they love him.”

Lisa, 49, who lives in Holloway, added: “I could see he was clever man, who had had some difficult times in his life. We met in such a bizarre way that I believe it was fate.”

Paul has spent most of his adult life homeless.

“It has been amazing to get work like this,” he said. “We met through our love of dogs. She’s given me a break.”

Lisa would also like people with learning disabilities to either become paid dog walkers or just enjoy the animals and accompany her on walks.

She has approached the young adults learning disabilities charity Harington, in Highgate, with her suggestion.
