TOWN Hall chiefs have sent a message of support to council staff after a “horrifying” attack on an off-duty employee.
Darren Edwards, 37, has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and criminal damage in relation to an incident in Bredgar Road, Archway, on Sunday.
He has also been charged with GBH with intent and two counts of assault on an emergency worker in relation to his arrest.
Council leader Kaya Comer-Schwartz said “This is a horrifying attack and the subject of a criminal investigation in which an arrest has now been made… Our valued council staff work hard every day to serve the people of Islington, they deserve to do this in safety and without fear.”
Police are asking anyone with information to call 101.
