Police officers set to appear in court

Friday, 8th August

FIVE police officers will appear in court after being charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a hospital patient.

David Hollands, Anthony Bhar, Robert Wall, Elena Ceborati, and Dan Penfold, all based in the Central North Command, stand accused of using “excessive force” on a man who had been detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to a hospital in Islington, which has not been named.

PC Bhar appeared in Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, with a pre-trial hearing now set for September.

The remaining four officers are scheduled to appear on August 15.
