POLICE are hunting two people after a suspected stolen moped collided with a woman in City Road, leaving her in a serious condition in hospital.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information following the crash at the junction with Wakeley Street at 9.35am last Thursday.

Police officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene. The 20-year-old victim remains in a serious but stable condition.

The scooter rider and pillion passenger rode off from the scene. The scooter had no licence plates and is believed to have been stolen.

Police do not believe the scooter was involved in any theft snatches before the collision.
