A MAN in his twenties was being treated in hospital last night (Thursday) after appearing at the front door with a stab wound.

Police had been called at 8am after reports of a trail of blood in Yardley Street, Clerkenwell. When officers arrived they were unable to locate any victims or suspects.

About an hour later, the injured man checked himself in for medical attention and was being treated as police made an appeal for information.

The injury is not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing, according to officers. No arrests have been made and the Met said it is continuing to investigate.

It is encouraging anyone who can help their enquiries to call the police on 101.

Officers had made a similar appeal for witnesses in Finsbury Park earlier in the week after an unrelated knife attack near the station.

The victim, also 20, had been left with “possible life-changing injuries”. In that investigation, two men and a 16-year-old have been charged by police.
