• DO the people of Britain want a prime minister who once shared platforms with Gerry Adams and others associated with the violent path to a United Ireland?

Is a prime minister wanted who describes Hamas (sworn to destroy the state of Israel) as his “friends”? Do we need a prime minister who, despite his human rights image, sat down to dinner at Buckingham Palace with the president of China?

When the Nazis invaded Poland we did something about it, but when China invaded Tibet we did nothing. Do we need a premier who seems to endorse this nothing?

Do we want someone who once said we should “abolish the army”? Do we want someone under whose aegis a group just as bad – if not worse – than Militant Tendency is taking over the party he purports to lead?
