ISLINGTON Council’s new sign for one of its green spaces won’t get as much wear as parks officers would have hoped.

An England fan at the Town Hall ordered a new nameplate for St Jude’s Street Garden to honour one of the World Cup squad’s most effective players.

Jude Bellingham, the Stourbridge-born midfielder, saw off Norway with two goals on Saturday but could not repeat the trick against Argentina.

The council sign will have to go into storage for now.
