A snow-covered Islington Town Hall

GRITTERS were called into action again yesterday (Thursday) as pavements became slippery followng another fall of snow.

Children at Samuel Rhodes, St Aloysius’ College and St Peter and Paul Catholic School were told to stay at home as some schools closed. At Art and Media School the lower years were allowed a day off but older pupils were obliged to carry on attending lessons with exam season nearly upon them.

In Archway, many passers-by were taking snaps of Dick Whittington’s cat in Whittington Park, whose new, snowy coat gave it a wintry appeal.
