Islington Square construction noise is kept to a minimum

Friday, 23rd June 2017

• WITH noise on the site of Islington Square monitored constantly, we were concerned to read the letter from Shosh Morris and Ed Fredenburgh (Builders’ deafening work bars us from sunny garden, June 16).

Our aim is to be a considerate neighbour. We ensure all noise levels are kept to a minimum by selecting and deploying technologies which minimise noise on this complex site. Construction is only undertaken between hours prescribed by the council’s Considerate Contractor guide.

We have installed advanced monitoring software across the site to guarantee that all noise vibration levels are in line with both the Considerate Constructors Scheme and permitted council levels. Regular testing confirms that we are fully compliant and outperform industry standards in relation to sound and dust pollution.

We do understand that living in close proximity to a construction site is not always easy and we thank our neighbours for their patience as we deliver this new mixed-use development. We take complaints seriously and are already in contact with our neighbours to ensure noise levels on their property, in particular, are compliant.

We would like to confirm that the construction team can be reached on 0203 770 2181 between 7am and 6pm, as has been indicated on the informative posters at the site entrance since we commenced works, or by contacting the security office in Studd Street during out-of-hours periods.
