It wasn’t my surgery that ‘sacked’ me!

‘They have no idea how many of such letters have been sent out in Islington’
• YOU published a letter from me in which I complained about being told by Islington Central Medical Centre that I should find a new doctor as I was not within their catchment area, (I’ve been sacked by my GP surgery, April 30).
ICMC contacted me to confirm they knew nothing about this letter, had not sent it, and did not have a copy. They knew nothing about it until I drew it to their attention.
I am within their catchment area as I have been for the last 15 years. It appears that Primary Care Support sent out this letter on their own initiative.
PCS is part of Capita, a for profit organisation which handles some aspects of GP practices and which has a poor reputation among GPs.
ICMC is now urgently looking into how this could have happened. They have no idea how many of such letters have been sent out in Islington.
PCS / Capita operates across the whole country. If any of your readers have received a similar letter they should immediately contact their GP and not take it at face value.
