WHITECROSS Street Party – an outdoor exhibition featuring work from the UK’s most talented street artists – returned for its 13th year this month.
Known for its iconic street art, the party was themed “art not war”, and featured pieces that took a stand against all violence against people and the Earth.
Julia Pond, one of the event’s so-called “dis-organisers”, said: “The 2023 Whitecross Street Party was both one of our best and most challenging – we had no choice but to cancel our Saturday due to a yellow weather warning for wind, but the team at our hosts the YMCA London City and North and funders Islington Council, as well as our ‘dis-organising team’, doubled down to double the fun on Sunday, and we achieved a great turnout for our signature mix of live street art, performances and local communities.”
