It’s chaos without Caracola, the boss

A MAN who is searching for his missing pet bird said his life with the remaining parrots is now “anarchy”.
The Agapornis Personata – a black masked love bird – flew out of the window in Tufnell Park.
Miguel Fernandez, owner of the bird, said: “Because she was the alpha female, in these species of parrots the females are the ones in control.
“Since the female flew away, the other ones are trying to get control of the flock.
“The hierarchy has changed a lot – it is anarchy. The male is the most gentle of the four. I can put it on my shoulder and he gives me kisses. The other ones are now fighting to take control.”
The mother bird took flight on June 15 leaving behind the father and three chicks – two females and two males.
Caracola with the black mask is missing
The parrot is called Caracola, meaning conch in Spanish, because the bird song sounds like listening to the sea, said Mr Fernandez.
“At some point I had seven of them,” he said.
“I sold two of them and I was happy having five. I wasn’t sure whether I would be returning home to Spain and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fly more than five.”
Mr Fernandez said Caracola went missing when he opened the cage door before shutting his window.
She flew to the curtain rail and then flew away before he could catch her.
It is the second time he has lost one of his beloved pet birds.
“I had one that really bonded with me but one day he flew away,” said Mr Fernandez, who lives in Ingestre Road.
“I found it when I was working as a concierge in Paddington.
“It flew into my work. A gentleman showed me a picture and I told him how much I had bonded with the bird.
“He went and spoke to his wife about it and they said I could keep it.”
