A FINSBURY Park play area has been given an upgrade as more parks across the borough are set to be refurbished in the coming months.
A ramp has been installed in Woodfall Park to make its games area accessible. New gym equipment and playground facilities have also been fitted, along with fresh paving and more trees.
Cllr Rowena Champion said: “Islington is one of London’s densest boroughs, so our green spaces are essential for our mental and physical wellbeing. They also offer huge opportunities to boost air quality and biodiversity, and support the council’s ongoing efforts to tackle the climate emergency. The improvements that we have made to Woodfall Park, as well as the proposed improvements to other green spaces across the borough, will make our parks more attractive and welcoming for the many people that use them every day.”
Other parks that will be upgraded include Isledon, Morton Road, Barnard, Bingfield and Highbury Fields, which will soon have five new public toilets and a refurbished cafe building. The New River Walk is set to reopen later this month.
