• WHAT an act of self-indulgence, (‘We need Corbyn now more than ever’, April 26).

While Labour Party members have been busy in Islington North campaigning for the election of Sadiq Khan, our GLA representative, and the Hillside ward by-election Labour candidate, a small clique of Jeremy Corbyn’s hard-left mates have chosen to start early canvassing for him in the general election.

Their focus isn’t on keeping the Conservatives out of London but instead putting the interest of one man over those of the many.

They clearly prefer sticking with a chum who has done the same job for 40 years over having Islington play a full role in the future Labour government.

Labour are the ones who can transform society, not a lone maverick. It’s time to put an end to the narcissistic dreams of one man and vote for change.
