‘I have received a letter from my GP surgery telling me I am no longer a patient’

• YOU published a letter from me, anonymised, on April 2 about the difficulty I had experienced in trying to get attention and treatment during the Covid-19 pandemic from my GP surgery which is in fact ICMC, (A robot could have provided the service I received).

I decided to attempt to make a formal complaint. This request has so far been ignored.

I have however received a letter telling me I am no longer a patient there, due to my living outside the boundary covered by the practice.

I have lived at my address for eight years and in that time have always been registered with ICMC. Before that I was registered with them for seven years at another address and when they were located at St Paul’s Road.

At no time was this boundary issue raised. On moving I immediately apprised them of my change of address.

The letter has no name, no signature, no phone number and no electronic or hard address. My only appeal is to ICMC.

I am 77 years old and in the middle of two hospital treatments for serious conditions. A letter from my hospital consultant has been ignored. I must now urgently seek another practice as my medical situation is complicated.

I feel this letter is a punitive rather than an administrative device.
