Jeremy is a true defender of the NHS

• I WAS a nurse at the Whittington Hospital for over 30 years.
Ever since Jeremy Corbyn was elected to represent the people of Islington North, he has defended the National Health Service which he describes as a very precious institution, providing universal health care, free at the point of need.
He has always called for an end to privatisation and outsourcing in the NHS and for a national care service.
He was with us when we fought against Centene, an American corporate giant, taking over our GP practices.
He was with us when they threatened to close the Whittington A&E and maternity services, and he is on the picket lines in support of NHS workers calling for a pay rise.
He is with us when we remind this government (and some in the Labour Party) that without the contribution of migrants like the Irish and the Windrush generation the NHS couldn’t then and can’t now be the NHS we want it to be.
Jeremy Corbyn has stood with us in Islington fighting to defend our NHS and that is one of the reasons why he is such a good Member of Parliament and why I hope that he can carry on being our MP.
