Labour is far less ‘toxic’ as a party now

David Rosenburg

David Rosenberg and Jeremy Corbyn

• CONTRARY to everything said by David Rosenberg (‘Labour is toxic,’ says Jewish member as he quits the party, News, February 25), the Labour Party is now far less toxic than it has been for seven years.

As a Labour Party member for nearly 30 years I am hugely relieved that we finally have a leadership that is in tune with the voters.

The only place where it is still toxic and hostile is here in Islington, thanks to the work of David Rosenberg and his hard-left Momentum colleagues, who still run the local party with an iron hand that would make Vladimir Putin envious.

We have just finished selecting Labour candidates for the next council elections, and anyone who didn’t show total allegiance to Jeremy Corbyn simply didn’t have a chance of being selected.

Labour Party members who have always been committed to improving the lives of Islington people were rejected because they didn’t worship at the altar of Islington’s phoney messiah.

Of course, David Rosenberg’s resignation from the Labour Party is really all about helping Jeremy Corbyn get elected at the next general election.

He will probably be standing against the Labour Party as an independent candidate and many of his followers are going to jump ship and join his campaign.

These people have no loyalty to the Labour Party or to the people of Islington who rely on us to support them and improve their lives.
