Two factions: Sir Keir Starmer and Jeremy Corbyn
• I WOULD like to add my two cents to the Labour Party debacle which has been displayed in your newspaper for the past few weeks (from the toxic / messiah / the far right took our votes).
As a black woman who works long hours in the National Health Service, I am appalled by the apparent selfishness of the Islington Labour Party, with the two factions: one for Jeremy Corbyn and the other for Sir Keir Starmer.
If the Labour Party does not get a grip and get its house in order then we will have more years of Conservative policies.
At this rate the Labour Party is doing the campaigning for the Tories.
Who would place their trust and votes in a bunch of people who are busy fighting among themselves?
These Labour members do not seem to be living in the same country as the suffering majority.
Does this party really know how much the population at large is suffering because of Conservative policies?
Do they really want to improve the ordinary person’s life chances or is it just about egos?
They seem to be oblivious to the fact that we need a united Labour Party to take victory from the Conservatives and to give hope to the suffering people of this country.
People like me who spend long hours looking after the vulnerable people in our society deserve your support, compassion, and regard.
Put aside you petty differences. Yes, petty, I said it.
And unite in the battle against the Conservative party so that the disadvantaged in our communities may have a better chance.
One letter mentioned that the Labour Party lost the last election due to the far right.
Do you really think that we, the population, are so stupid that we cannot reason and decide what we want?
Can you not at least listen to the people? I am so angry and hurt by this betrayal. The party has become engrossed with selfishness.
