Leaving an economic and political union can only be a good thing
Friday, 23rd March 2018

• IT never ceases to amaze me why Remainers are so concerned about “our global standing diminishing before our eyes”, (Letters, March 16).
For far too long Britain has held a corrosive, over-inflated role in foreign affairs, at the expense of other nations.
Leaving an economic and political union which serves only to attack democracy, to suppress growth in the less-developed nations, and to privatise social services, can only be a good thing.
If the result of the people’s Brexit vote is that our standing in the world is “diminished” before the eyes of Donald Tusk, Tony Blair and Obama, this proud Islington Brexiteer can happily accept that.
