A man appeared in court on Monday charged with the murder of Lee Jay Hatley and the attempted murder of a 22-year-old woman.

Bradley Mark Wood, 24, spoke only to confirm his name and his address at a short hearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.

Wood, of no fixed address, was arrested on Saturday after Lee Jay Hatley, also known as Lee J, was stabbed to death and a 22-year-old woman sustained knife injuries during a small gathering at the Dover Court Estate in Canonbury last Monday.

Wood was remanded in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on July 5.
