Let’s shame the Crick on this cycle path

• ABOUT five years ago I was on the planning committee that approved the building of the Francis Crick Centre.
At the time I was both a councillor and Camden’s Cycling Champion, so I was at pains to insist on inclusion in the legal section 106 agreement, the construction of a new thoroughfare wide enough for both cyclists and pedestrians to improve east/west permeability to the stations for all.
The obligation was to open it before the centre. But it hasn’t happened. Despite requests from the council the Crick continues to treat the new path as a private space, only for its own cycling employees.
I had higher hopes that the Crick’s administrators would have been at pains to be good corporate neighbours. Perhaps we can shame them into fulfilling their obligation to open this public right of way pronto?
