Lib Dem homes target starts with a minus

Friday, 13th April 2018

• BEFORE Islington’s Lib Dems say their main priority is to build 1,000 social rent homes, perhaps they should reflect on the actions of their parliamentary colleagues, (Lib Dems defend ‘simple’ manifesto that’s just 384 words long, April 6).

It was the Lib Dem MPs in the Coalition who agreed to changing the planning rules so office blocks could be converted to housing without planning permission and without any provision for affordable housing.

It has lost Islington many potential social rent homes and is about to happen again at Archway’s Hill House. That’s another minus 75 homes to the Lib Dems before they’ve started.
