Mess-ups re care homes, lockdown-timing, Covid hand-shaking, test-and-trace, border controls, etc, shrink compared with what the year has exposed.

Entrenched class, wealth, and racial discriminations, not just the most vulnerable but for those poor who left crowded homes, went on crowded public transport to essential (low-paid) jobs to save lives.

Time to reconsider priorities?
