LTNs mean boundary road pollution is worsened and these need to be monitored

Friday, 22nd September 2023

• IN the September 15 Tribune Councillor Praful Nargund argued that LTN, low traffic neighbourhoods, or LVs, liveable neighbourhoods, now proposed for Barnsbury, Mildmay, followed by Highbury East, will help with the air pollution issue, (Air pollution in London is one of the biggest health crises we face, September 15).

In fact by concentrating traffic in a very few boundary roads, especially Liverpool Road, they will do the opposite. Residents there already face critical levels of pollution, which will become much worse under the Islington Council proposals. The council needs to monitor boundary roads closely and publish the facts.
