A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was found suffering from stab wounds in Islington.

Joseph Martelli, 22, of Holloway Road, was arrested on Saturday, April 6 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. On Sunday, April 7 he was charged with attempted murder.

Martelli is remanded in custody and was set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court today Monday,  April 8.

The charge relates to a 23-year-old woman stabbed at Holloway Road, N19 at around 11pm on Saturday.

The injured woman was taken to a north London hospital where her injuries are not life-threatening.
