Man dead after motorcycle “burst” into flames in Seven Sisters Road

A MAN has died after a crash in Finsbury Park that left a motorbike on fire in the road.

An eyewitness to the incident, which took place at about 7:15pm on Wednesday in Seven Sisters road near the junction with Blackstock Road, said he heard a bike skidding across the road and then it “burst” into flames.

The driver was found yards up the road where a dozen or so passers-by tried to give him first aid.

Police attended with paramedics, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Burak Gulsen had just stepped out of his car when he heard the crash and turned around to see what happened.

He said: “The bike burst into fire. People were trying to help the rider. Another man came out and tried to extinguish the bike.

“Someone said to me that the person had died. It is horrible.”

The collision involved a car and a motorbike and the driver of the car stopped at the scene.

There have been no arrests.

“Extensive” road closures remain in place around the area, according to the police.
