Mothers of young men who lost their lives to knife crime will lead a ceremony to mark two years since the death of Jonathan McPhillips in Upper Street.

Residents are welcome to attend the ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Upper Street at 7pm tomorrow (Thursday)

Conservative mayoral hopeful Shaun Bailey is also expected to speak and there will be performances by friends of Mr McPhillips who was known as JJ.

Jj, 28, was fatally stabbed on February 25 2017 in Upper Street while he was with friends and his life support machine was switched off three days later. No one has been tried for the attack.

Michelle McPhillips, JJ’s mum, said she organised the event to “keep JJ’s memory alive”.
