FRUIT-LOVING primary school students could take a new campaign all the way to the top of government, after their MP endorsed their efforts.
Islington South and Finsbury MP Dame Emily Thornberry visited Moreland Primary School in Clerkenwell to hear from a group of pupils about demands to get a piece of fruit every day.
Unlike children in Reception to Year 2, older children do not get a daily snack, which they feel is unfair.
Dame Emily said: “I’m so pleased to see these young people understanding the real value of fruit.
“They have a great idea of how to promote it amongst their peers and I think we should take this idea to the ministers and I am determined to make sure their voices are heard.”
