HIGHGATE Harrier Hannah Viner marauded through the mud on Saturday to secure her second win on the spin in the Metropolitan Cross-Country League.
Competing in the Senior Women’s Division One category, she raced around the testing 6km course at Trent Park, near Cockfosters, in 23 minutes, 20 seconds to finish first out of a field of 225 runners.
The fifth and final race in the series, Hannah went into it in confident mood having been victorious in her previous outing at Wormwood Scrubs.
It proved a monumental weekend for Highgate’s senior men and women as they secured their sixth consecutive title in the Metropolitan Cross-Country League – and with it the chance to once again get their hands on the Howard Williams Trophy.
