HEARTFELT applause filled Arsenal’s stadium on Saturday as fans celebrated a young fan whose life was cut short this week.
Jacob Kelly died aged just 23 following the Gunners’ away day in Leicester, reportedly after taking his own life.
Fans have been had been urged not to suffer mental health crises in silence, and to consider their own mental health and others, particularly young men, who so often keep dark thoughts locked away from their closest friends and family.
A banner was unveiled in his memory that said he had joined “The Clock End in the Sky” and an online fundraiser set up to help the family with funeral costs.
A mural paying tribute to Jacob has also been put up on the Eaglet pub in Seven Sisters Road, Holloway.
