DETECTIVES have launched a murder investigation after a man who was seriously injured in a restaurant died in hospital.
Police were called to reports of a serious assault at Bethel Cafe, an Ethiopian restaurant, in Seven Sisters Road at around 10pm last night (Tuesday).
Officers found a man in his 40’s suffering life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a north London hospital but died at 2.15pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
No arrests have been made.
People at a nearby restaurant told the Tribune tonight that the man was from the Somali community and had been stabbed inside Bethel Cafe after a fight broke out during a game of pool.
The area around the restaurant is still cordoned off.
Formal identification is yet to take place but the man’s family has been informed. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
