My elderly friend’s carer deserves such praise
Friday, 28th February 2020
• I WRITE this on behalf of my close friend, Margaret.
She lives in sheltered accommodation in Highbury and I have known her for some years now. I also looked after her sister and her husband until they passed on.
The reason for my writing to you is about her carer, who attends to her everyday needs. Margaret is now 95 years of age. Her carer’s name is Pam.
She calls every day to give her breakfast, a cup of tea, and have a good old chat with her.
She washes Margaret daily, changes her, makes her bed, attends to her commode; then she leaves, returns to give her a dinner, hot and proper, sweet, tea.
Then she goes back to give her tea-time meal, and attends her bedroom duties, safely and properly.
And indeed then comes back to her flat at approximately 9pm to make sure all is well, and that she is comfortable.
I must say that this woman is a carer of great distinction and expertise.
Nothing is too much trouble for her to do for my friend. She bathes her, powders her, creams her, top to toe. She treats her as though she was her own mother.
She is a sincere woman of true class, a pride and joy, an incredible lady of love and care.
Please kindly print this letter. Thank you indeed.
