• I COMPLETELY agree with Neal Ascherson’s letter in the June 26 Tribune (Don’t take down the statue – add to it).

He puts forward a compelling argument for keeping it there but also suggests adding a copy of a bronze African woman and child to remind us all of the real history behind the conflict. A wonderful idea.

I always enjoy reading the Tribune, especially your film and book reviews. Such an antidote to the usual drivel.
