Meals are dished up by the People’s Army

A YOUTH charity has teamed up with a community group helping to deliver meals to 20 families each week across the borough.

Over 2,000 meals were cooked in the kitchen at charity Prospex, based in Holloway, by volunteers from the People’s Army. Food donations were provided by the Felix Project.

Alan Hopson, from Prospex, said: “Our partnership with The People’s Army has been fantastic, they have been using our kitchen and providing volunteers to cook food three days a week and providing fabulous meals for those in need and for us to distribute to our local community, families and young people.

“We have even been able to provide food parcels for families which some have said is a very welcome addition in these economically stressful times.”

The People’s Army are sending chefs and volunteers to the Prospex kitchen four times a week to prepare homemade meals. They have been making up to 300 a day.

The People’s Army are looking for volunteers, food donations and kitchen space. For more information email thepeoplesarmy@hotmail.com

Prospex, founded in 2001, offers children a space to gather and play after school.
