Young ‘Nocado’ protesters in action 

• I AM Jemima, nine years old, and I go to Yerbury Primary School in Tufnell Park. I am writing this because Ocado are building a depot right behind my school.

The fact that Ocado are planning to build a depot that will produce dangerous air fumes and affect the lives of the children learning at Yerbury and not even caring is upsetting – 480 children attend Yerbury so 480 lives will be influenced by Ocado.

Ocado have not come to talk to us and have avoided our questions and queries as to why they are building the depot right next to our school. Their big warehouse towers over our playground where the nursery children play.

We have had a lot of disruption to our learning because of Covid and we don’t want to have to put up with the noise of all the Ocado trucks that will soon be pulling in behind our school if we don’t stop them.

I hope that in time Ocado will realise that what they are doing is wrong and that they will drop the depot!
