FINSBURY PARK is one of six “high crime” areas due to have 90 more officers on the streets as part of a policing shake up announced yesterday (Thursday).
According to the Met, the new officers will focus on tackling anti-social behaviour, phone robbery and shoplifting.
Islington’s community safety chief Labour councillor Angelo Weekes said the announcement was “excellent news” and said the as the policing priorities accurately reflected residents’ concerns in Finsbury Park.
The Tribune has previously reported on anti-social behaviour in and around Blackstock Road, as well as police and the council efforts to clamp down on drug dealing and make the area feel safer.
