AN Acland Burghley pupil made his Royal Opera House debut after he was chosen to play a key role in a classic Greek myth.
Year 12 student Oscar Fichelson played the role of Hippolytus in the ballet Phaedra + Minotaur at the Linbury Theatre in the famous Covent Garden opera house last week.
For the past two years Oscar has been working with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, which is based at the school and rehearses in its hall.
Harry Hickmore, director of development at OAE, said: “Oscar is a really good dancer and he’s done a few projects with us.”
He added: “I think he enjoyed it, it’s nice to give him a bit of an opportunity to take all that talent onto an internationally renowned stage. A few of us went. It was really good.”
