• AS a resident of Amwell LTN, low traffic neighbourhood, I respectfully disagree with your correspondent, (Amwell is another LTN failure, November 17).

Our streets, some of which used to be jammed with commuter traffic, are now safer (especially for children), less polluted and much more pleasant.

Should residents have to pay the price for commuters’ convenience? Central London simply cannot accommodate the current volume of traffic.

Until enough car drivers are prepared to choose other modes of transport, I don’t think any amount of traffic management will solve the problem.
