Our thanks to the Irish
Friday, 24th May 2019
• THREE Irish women I knew have died. One was a very good seamstress machinist. The other two were NHS nurses. One was a district nurse in Islington many years ago.
The Irish have contributed a lot to the NHS. Then there are the Irish who worked in the construction industry and public services. So many do charity work for all communities, in particular the homeless and rough sleepers.
We never hear about most of those people, and that is how they want it. But we should all recognise and thank them for their work.
