Highbury Fields has a ‘partial ban’ in some areas of the park
FINES of up to £300 could be issued to Islington’s dog-walkers, as the Town Hall plans to extend a ban on dogs in parks across the borough.
A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) excludes dogs from certain parks, playgrounds and green spaces. PSPOs have been in place over the past three years and under Town Hall plans will continue until October 2029.
Certain green spaces – including Archway Park, Highbury Memorial and Arlington Square – have extended a complete ban on dogs and could see owners issued on-the-spot fines by wardens.
Other spaces like Highbury Fields have a “partial ban” in some areas of the park.
