Pessimistic about young people’s future

Friday, 7th December 2018

• THE Brexit agreement negotiated by Theresa May is a poor compromise between the remainers, who wished to see the country stay an integral part of the European Union and single market, and the leavers, who desired the restoration of sovereign integrity under a free- market system.

This sovereignty is spurious. Our sovereignty was never challenged. And isolating ourselves from our nearest major industrial and commercial partners is fatuous.

The underlying dilemma is centred on the rigid bureaucratisation of the cartel mechanism and financial infrastructure dominating the European economy, with its suffocating repercussions. In regard to the future of our young people, I am pessimistic.
