Planning disasters await…

• FEELING somewhat helpless and desperate to save the Archway Campus from decimation!

Planning applications and consultations should be put on hold until the lockdown is over, as the public are going to be “out of the loop” to state their views at meetings and, if not online or have access to libraries, we have to rely on the Islington Tribune for news.

Writing to the planning department is pointless. I’ve written twice and delivered “by hand” with no reply or an acknowledgement.

A disaster awaits this beautiful Gothic building and its Victorian history, its heritage is being ignored.

It’s quite amazing how councillors are standing by to save the Archway Tavern and just a few hundred yards behind it is the Gothic tower and not a squeak from the councillors.

Peabody, founded in 1862, I’m afraid has fallen from grace. Why do we have to fight so hard to save buildings and trees?

The same old, same old, is going to happen to the Holloway Prison site. Where are the brilliant new designers?

New blood is needed to shake up the system, stop the rot. No more high-rises. Kind and thoughtful designs, please.

It would be a tragedy if some of our buildings get the go-ahead to proceed under the haze of this pandemic.
