Plans for improvements at Highbury Fields are exciting
Friday, 11th February 2022
• HIGHBURY Fields is the heart of the borough and our Highbury community, so we’re delighted that our Labour-run council have laid out plans for an exciting set of improvements to this vital public space.
Since the publication of the initial draft plan in 2018 councillors have worked hard to make this scheme the very best it can be, speaking to local people and hearing about how we can make Highbury Fields cleaner, greener, safer and healthier.
The council’s new plans will see an increase in green space, resurfaced sports pitches, lower energy usage, accessible and inclusive toilets and a new café.
We are especially proud of the proposed wildlife garden that will allow so many children to enjoy and learn about biodiversity and nature.
We believe that the latest proposals represent a real opportunity to help tackle the climate crisis, improve public space and make Highbury Fields a genuinely lovely place for all.
Make sure you have your say on the plans either on the online consultation or at the Central Library.
