Policing in the park
• I WONDER how victims of burglary and rape feel about our men and women in blue “policing” green spaces when other crime goes unresolved, and reports are binned?
A recent walk in Finsbury Park saw eight constables surrounding an un-resisting, passive, guy, patting him down, more arriving.
Depressed, I walked to my little postage stamp-size parklet to witness four more officers “investigating” a peaceable couple on a bench.
I was surprised I wasn’t cautioned as I aimed for a vacant resting place. All this occurred on a sunny afternoon. Comments please!
