THE police have said they are “responding to an incident at a residential address” off Essex Road this morning.

Eyewitnesses have reported seeing an “armed” police presence in Halliford Road.

Access to Halliford Street has been blocked.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “Officers are responding to an incident at a residential address in Halliford Street. There is no risk to the wider public but a number of road closures are in place. We’d ask people to avoid the area and will provide further updates on this account in due course.”
