• AS enforcers of the law, the police must lead by example.

Sadly, as we have seen by way of the growing investigations by the police watchdog, in recent events and in past years, a minority of police have fallen short in the principles and core values that lie at the heart of good and fair policing.

How can we place our trust and our safety in the hands of those who abuse it?

The prime minister would do well to make institutions such as the police his starting point for reform, rather than to silence those who speak up, with good reason, against them.
