A BRAND new cinema is opening its doors this week in Finsbury Park.

The Picturehouse Cinema opened on Wednesday and is located at Telford Homes’s £2.6million City North development next to the tube station. It boasts seven screens, a kitchen and members bar.

The centrepiece of the lobby is a specially commissioned mural from British artist Dale Lewis – a seven-metre high mural celebrating cultural diversity – and will be his first permanent public commission in the UK.

Clare Binns, joint managing director of Picturehouse Cinemas, said: “I am thrilled that Picturehouse is bringing a new cinema to Finsbury Park.

“We are all about neighbourhood cinemas in the heart of the local community and Finsbury Park is such a vibrant and exciting place for us to open our doors.”

She added: “We welcome you all and are looking forward to an exciting new adventure for us at Picturehouse in the wonderful place that is Finsbury Park.”
