THE next generation of talented young players from Pro Touch SA (PTSA) ramped up their footballing development when they took part in not one, but two knockout competitions during what was an action-packed weekend.
The Under-6s squad travelled to the Samuel Montagu Youth Centre in south London on Saturday to take part in the KSI Cup, while on Sunday they lined up in the Limitless Tournament which was held at the New River Sports Centre in Wood Green.
The youngsters narrowly missed out on the silverware this time around, and PTSA founder Ash Rahman was quick to explain why winning was the least important part of the puzzle for a team that was only put together in January.
“The emphasis right now is on having fun, and giving the players a chance to experience what it’s like competing in tournament football,” he said. “All the players enjoyed themselves and really bonded as a team.
“They will play a few more friendlies over the summer, and then this coming season they will take part in the Under-7s division of the Camden Youth League at Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury.”
